Toronto– September 8, 2010 – Retained executive search firm The Caldwell Partners International Inc. (TSX: CWL) today announced the appointment of two new partners in the firm’s New York City and Vancouver offices. Angelica Mirza is joining the Vancouver office as a partner, and Jerry McGrath is joining the New York City office as a partner and member of the human resources and financial services practices.
“With more than two decades of both corporate and executive search experience, Jerry McGrath is a proven leader in the HR recruitment space,” said Gerry Cameron, managing partner of The Caldwell Partners’ New York office. “He will be a key player as we build out our Human Resources Practice, and we are fortunate to have an executive of his calibre joining our New York office.”
Prior to joining The Caldwell Partners, Mr. McGrath had been a senior client partner at Korn/Ferry International, where he served as the client relationship manager for a number of the firm’s large global clients, leading executive searches across multiple functions and industries in the Americas and in Europe.
He previously held positions with UBS in the United States and Europe, serving as global head of recruiting and development for the investment bank, based in London, England, and also as the head of human resources for investment banking in the Americas. He joined UBS from Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was head of human resources for investment banking. Prior to this role, he was head of global recruiting as well as vice president of human resources of the U.S. region for MasterCard International. Before this, he was with Deloitte and Touche, where he was manager of HR planning and development.
Mr. McGrath began his corporate career with GTE Corporation, a predecessor firm to Verizon. He spent 10 years in progressive human resources roles culminating with the role of director of executive placement. He holds a master’s in labor and industrial relations from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s in political science from West Virginia University.
Ms. Mirza has nearly ten years of experience recruiting chief executive officers, vice presidents, executive directors, managers and board directors across Europe for global and multinational organizations. Prior to joining The Caldwell Partners, she was a partner in the Milan office of Amrop.
Ms. Mirza has been a keynote speaker at various conferences, and has written articles for numerous publications, including Canadian HR Reporter, Search Consult and HBA Euro Voice. She has a BA in sociology from University of Calgary, and an MA ED from Boston University, Framingham.
