About Chris
Chris Beck is Caldwell’s president and chief executive officer and serves as a member of the board of directors.
A leader who balances strategic vision with operational expertise, Chris drives Caldwell’s strategy and overall direction while providing day-to-day leadership and operational management across the executive search and IQTalent business segments. His leadership extends to the firm’s growth strategies, process refinement and fostering a success-oriented environment. Additionally, he leads Caldwell’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring that these values are integrated into the firm’s core operations.
Chris joined Caldwell in 2013 as chief financial officer and corporate secretary, bringing with him a wealth of experience in finance and operations. His expertise and operational focus led to his appointment as chief operating and financial officer in 2018 and as president in 2021. Most recently he was appointed as President and CEO in 2024. With over 25 years of experience, Chris has a proven track record of leading and managing various functions including accounting, finance, human resources, strategic planning, business process improvement, information technology, and treasury.
Experience
Prior to his tenure at Caldwell, Chris was the chief financial officer at BirdDog, a transportation business services company. During his time there, BirdDog and its subsidiary Foley Services were recognized as part of the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 list for multiple consecutive years. Before BirdDog, Chris served as the chief financial officer at Highland Partners, a global executive search firm, and held various finance roles at Alper Ink Group, ultimately rising to the position of chief financial officer. He began his career in the audit practice at Deloitte.
Education
Chris holds a BA/BS in business economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
